BASE HINGED COLUMNS - LIGHT DUTY RANGE
The Abacus spring operated base hinged column is the best available. Anywhere. Why?
The Abacus base hinged column has been the choice of the railway industry, local authorities and industry, both in the UK and internationally, for 40 years. From experience, our customers have found that this product just goes on and on…
Fast, simple and safe to maintain. The column can be lowered in as little as 60 seconds, with absolutely no risk to the maintenance personnel.
Benefits:
Simplicity and speed of operation
Complete safety of operating personnel
Access to gear only by lowering column (unless Flush Door Option is chosen)
Vandal resistant locking screw as standard (secondary security)
Gravity locked, can only be lowered with universal lever (standard supply)
New Flush Door Model for June 2008!
Available in June is our new modified flush door model, featuring just a single vandal resistant locking screw in the door which also acts as the primary lock to prevent the column being lowered.
Just order our flush door model and this feature will be fitted as standard. The locking screw in the side of the column lid is eliminated in this version.
Training
Training on all Base Hinged Columns is available either at Abacus or on site at your facility. Take a look at our Training page for more information.
Spring Counterbalance Unit
The RLS spring counterbalance unit is available in a range of colour coded options, each one
suited to take particular weights and head loads. Select from the column matrix below the correct unit for your column height and weight.
The counterbalance unit ensures complete operator safety in lowering and raising the column. Compare with alternative rope/cable operated systems which do not offer similar safety
levels in use.
The RLH hydraulic unit will operate all of the light duty base hinged columns (as well as the medium duty range).
This provides the advantage of having a single unit to maintain multiple column heights and headloads, either on a single site or accross a variety of sites.
