BASE HINGED MASTS - THE WAY FORWARD & DOWN!
The Abacus range of 12m to 50m base hinged masts offers an ideal platform for floodlighting sports and large areas, as well as alternative uses such as wind turbines and telecommunications applications.
Base hinged masts are fast and simple systems to install; compared with fixed masts, large cranes are not necessary, since the hydraulic units are used to carry out the installation as well as maintenance.
Simple and safe maintenance are the key to its success; no climbing or high lifting platform is needed. Also, in comparison to the lowering crown mechanism, also offered by Abacus, the simplicity of its engineering principles ensures a virtually maintenance free life.
The HL250 and HL330 offer versatility in the heights from 10m to 20m; even at 20m the HL330 has a capacity of 8 Abacus Challenger® 1 2kW floodlights.
In addition to the HL250 and HL330, which have compact gear cabinets at the mast base conveniently mounted onto the flange plate, the new FH range of masts, up to 15m, houses up to 4 sets of control gear within its base. Two access doors provide easy access for maintenance.
Above 20m and up to 50m, Abacus offers a complete range of systems designed to take headloads for most requirements.

THE BASE HINGED MASTS RANGE (12M TO 20M)
Abacus offer the HL250 AND HL330 ranges to suit sports and large area lighting purposes up to a height of 20m.
Fast and simple both to install as well as maintain, these mast systems have benefited clients worldwide over three decades.
The HL250 mast can be installed with either a standard concrete foundation or with the root spigot, which allows for same day mast installation without the need for a concrete foundation to cure.
The HL330 mast offers amazing capability in terms of carrying capacity, able to carry 8 Challenger 1 2kW floodlights at 20m. This provides the highest Class I lighting levels for most sports with minimum lighting points.
The mast systems are offered with a wide range of standard headframes, available to download.
The mobile counterbalance units offer a simple maintenance solution. No other company offers the knowledge, experience and range of Abacus.
