Leader in many Sectors

In the field of sports lighting, Abacus has lit everything from the world’s largest sports lighting installation, the Dubai Nad Al Sheba horse race track, to more everyday applications such as local football and multi-use facilities. Abacus’s product quality, which we take pride in showing up close to our customers, leads the pack.

We also pride ourselves on the fact that there is an Abacus base hinged column on every UK railway platform, all 2,500 of them. Our innovative, customer led approach to developing engineering solutions has led to the award of many patents over the years, since the first base hinged columns were developed to meet the railway industry’s needs.

Approach to Innovation

Recent developments in telescopic mast structures demonstrate that we are still pushing the boundaries today.

This innovative engineering approach has not been restricted to mast structures. Patented reflector systems have been developed in the car park and large area lighting sector. The Concept Reflector® system, patented in 2000, has allowed Abacus to become the market leader in the retail car park sector with the Orion luminaire, still unrivalled worldwide in its performance to this day.
