Abacus lights up Rangers Murray Park
Abacus Lighting has completed a contract to manufacture and install external lighting at Rangers FC’s new £14 million state-of-the art training centre at Murray Park
Backed by its reputation and previous successful installations at training grounds including Chelsea; Arsenal; Everton and Ipswich Town, Abacus beat off stiff competition to secure the contract.
Abacus installed 72 Challenger® floodlights to light two of the training academy’s six full size pitches. The Challenger®range of sports lighting offers a specific light control system consisting of a series of complementary measures to effectively control obtrusive light. Precision reflector systems ensure tight beam control, reducing overspill and directing light only where it is needed - on the pitch.
Abacus’ David Lister commented: "We were delighted that Rangers selected us to supply and install the new floodlighting at this training facility. This project adds to the growing reputation of Abacus as one of the leading lighting specialists, based on our commitment to innovation, high engineering standards and quality production."
The training centre includes six full size pitches, a practice area, a synthetic indoor pitch and incorporates a professional wing and a youth wing. In addition to helping develop elite athletes, Murray Park is also used to benefit the wider community in association with Sport Scotland.
