Quality Engineer

The above vacancy has arisen in our QA Department to join our team within Abacus. This is a full time role aiding the maintenance and support of the Quality Standard to ISO level and our HSEQ activities throughout the business.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Manage the internal / External Quality Concerns database
  • Process Internal and Customer Complaints to completion
  • To compile QA related documentation and dossiers
  • To conduct Internal and Supplier Quality Audits
  • To conduct Internal and Health & Safety Audits

Vocational Requirements - desirable
  • NVQ in Engineering
  • Green Belt, Lean Six Sigma
  • ISO Internal Auditor

Other requirements
  • Previous successful experience in a busy Quality Department within a Manufacturing environment - desirable
  • An analytical mind and problem solving methodologies
  • To have excellent and confident communication skills, both internal and external at all levels
  • Possess good IT and MS Office Skills
  • Have good attention to detail and accuracy
  • Must be willing to travel to customer and supplier sites which may include international travel

Principal Electrical Engineer

The above vacancy has arisen in our Design Department to join the team within Abacus. This is a full time hands on role supporting and working with the Electrical Designers and Engineers to fulfil our Customer requirements both pre and post order.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Responsible for workflow within section (order fulfilment, sales support)
  • Key part of preliminary product development
  • Responsible for detailed product development delivery
  • Deputy line management duties
  • Cable design using AutoCad
  • Electrical Load calculations using Amtech
  • Creation of Material Masters and Bills of Material using SAP

Vocational Requirements and Experience
  • Degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline
  • 17th Edition certification
  • Test and Inspect certification desirable
  • Inspection and fault finding
  • NICEIC Qualified Supervisor experience desirable
  • Desirable experience would include industrial exterior lighting, control panel design, distribution, PLC programming, ATEX equipment
  • Pre-sales site visits assessing existing installations and supplies
  • 5+ years in senior engineering role
  • Work scheduling experience

Facilities Maintenance Manager

The above vacancy has arisen in our Facilities Maintenance Department to join the team within Abacus. This is a full time role which will own, manage and deliver facilities maintenance to our clients giving complete customer satisfaction and expedite growth within this sector of our Business.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Prioritise and oversee execution of works and manage service level agreements
  • Team and people management ensuring competencies match the required tasks to enable forecasting and scheduling of works
  • Responsible for health & safety on site including Risk Assessments, Method Statements and attending health & safety audits
  • Attend and lead pre-sales site visits assessing and supporting sales staff
  • Build strong collaborative Customer relations

Vocational Requirements & Experience
  • Proven experience in Team Management
  • Possession of a PRINCE2 qualification would be desirable
  • Desirable experience would include industrial exterior lighting or electrical related discipline, collaboration within the railway sector
  • 3+ years in Facilities Management role
  • Work scheduling experience
  • Experience in producing risk assessments/method statements
  • At least intermediate, demonstrable knowledge of Microsoft products including Project, Excel and Word
  • Knowledge of SAP would be highly desirable

Other requirements
  • Willing to travel to customer sites and possess a UK Driving Licence
  • Willing to work outside of normal office hours meet to demands of the customers
  • Possess good attention to detail and accuracy
  • Have excellent communication skills with both colleagues and customers
