Telescopic Masts

By lowering, or telescoping, the masts to almost half their operating height, any visual intrusion can be minimised. This height often represents the level of other buildings in the facility or in the local environment. We’ve already installed 3 stadium mast systems in the UK and the Middle East, including the world renowned cricket stadiums in London, Lord’s and the Oval cricket grounds.

Abacus offers two distinct product ranges of telescopic mast for professional sports lighting:

Stadium Range (Patent pending)

We offer a mast range capable of extending to 50m in height and a carrying capacity of 100 2kW floodlights at maximum height.

The elegant structure will enhance any stadium, when combined with a range of headframe design choices. The mast telescopes to its maximum height in around 10 minutes, under control from a central remote point.

Architecturally interesting headframe designs can be developed to create a striking symbol for the stadium; why not take the opportunity to enhance your facility with an iconic design signature?

For transportation purposes the key mast section, 13m in length and 20 tonnes in weight (approximately), can be transported to site and installed relatively quickly; the mast electrical cabling systems are factory fitted before despatch, allowing a "plug and play" on site speedy assembly.

Club Range

Our club range has operating heights from 3.5m to 20m, with a maximum carrying capacity of up to 5 Challenger® 1 2kW floodlights (or alternatively a 1kW floodlight where applicable).

To ensure simple maintenance operation, the mast also hinges to the ground with the use of our range of standard hydraulic equipment (as used on the base hinged range).
