Abacus Lighting, founded in 1958, is a world leader in exterior lighting solutions for sports, industry, airport & ports and towns & cities.
We design and manufacture a wide variety of products ranging from our unique telescopic masts, installed at Lord’s and The Oval to the latest in LED lighting technology.

Electrical & Lighting Design Sales Apprenticeships x 2
We are looking for enthusiastic and reliable people to train as Electrical & Lighting Design Sales Engineers, based at our head office in Sutton in Ashfield. Major duties upon completion of training will be to carry out lighting design proposals, complete sales quotations and support the Sales and Lighting Design departments.
Drive and enthusiasm are a vital requirement of the position, with the ability to reason and think through problems. A commercial outlook is also extremely important.
If you have an interest in sales and electrical engineering and are willing to learn and show initiative, then we'd like to hear from you.
Abacus apprentices must be willing to complete a nationally recognised college day release course at a local college / university appropriate to the chosen career over the 3-4 year apprenticeship, alongside an in house training & development program.
Apprenticeship candidates must have:
- The ability to meet the expected standards of employment generally referred to as the "work ethic"
- A willingness to learn and be committed to the physical, mental, and emotional demands of the occupation
- The academic requirements for apprenticeship and the ability to maintain an acceptable level of performance in apprenticeship academics and work site learning
- The motivation to achieve clearly defined personal and work related goals
- The thinking and problem solving skills needed to produce efficient, effective work
- Candidates should possess GCSE Grade C or above in Maths and English, however candidates with other experiences relative to the role will be considered
