Challenge
Fraser Coast Sports and Recreation Precinct in Hervey Bay, Australia, is the home for many local clubs participating in Football and Netball.
Since it first opened in February 2019, the sporting complex has become a popular site to train on with professional soccer club Brisbane Roar F.C. training their players there.
The complex needed a reliable lighting system in order to cater for its ever growing popularity. Demand for evening training sessions and matches necessitated a sports lighting system, in addition, the adjoining car park also required lighting.
Solution
- 6 x HL250 base-hinged masts
- 14 x GL520 base-hinged masts
- 13 x 9m fixed masts
- 17 x 8m fixed masts
Abacus provided masts for the pitches and car park. These were installed by our Australian partner, Precision Sports Lighting.
80 x AAA-LUX WS-Series floodlights, supplied by Abacus’ Australian partner Smartlux, were mounted onto the masts.
The new system provides the complex with high performance energy efficient LED lighting on base-hinged masts, making maintenance safe and simple.
Fraser coast were extremely happy with the new lighting system and now host many evening matches and training sessions at their sporting complex.
