The manufacturing team are looking for a self-motivated, enthusiastic fabricator/plater, who is looking for a permanent role in a busy manufacturing environment. The role will consist of, but not be limited to the following tasks;
· Reading and interpreting engineering drawings
· Welding & fabricating mild steel structures (high mast lighting products) to engineering drawings
· Marking out, tacking up and fully welding of structures, masts and shafts 3mm – 50mm
· Drilling, tapping and hand profiling holes and door access holes as required
· Fettling and cleaning of components with use of grinders
· Setting up of plant and machinery specific for the job in hand
· Use of crane to load and unload components from work area (crane/manual handling training to be provided in house)
· Cleaning all welds, removing excess spatter and slag
· Experienced in using a variety of tools common in welding & fabricating
· Experienced in understanding and following Safe Working Practices for welding equipment
· Maintaining a high standard of quality whilst working to deadlines set by Team Leader
Qualifications and Education Requirements
· Fabricator/Welder qualifications required
· Successful candidate will have to go through weld tests in-house to get coded recognition
Preferred Skills
· Experience of manual handling
· Good communication skills
· Experienced in reading engineering drawings
Salary: £30,000-£35,000 (including performance bonus)
Overtime readily available at 1 ½ plus Saturday mornings.

TRAINING TO BE PROVIDED:
This programme will include:
– Engineering Basic Skills training – Day Release at local college
– NVQ Level 3 in Engineering- Day release at local college
– A Technical Certificate (possible HND or equivalent)
– In house training in line with your requirements.
ONCE TRAINED YOU WILL BE ABLE TO
– Interpret component drawings supplied as hard copy or computer-generated images.
– Use optimum process and correct tools for each stage of manufacture.
– Produce components in line with customer requirements.
– Checking the component dimensions using a range of measuring equipment to include digital micrometres, height gauges, Vernier’s, and in-process gauging.
– Conduct basic routine machine maintenance checks.
