As an Engineering Apprentice, you will be supporting the business to produce turnkey solutions that solve our customer challenges and requirements for large and prestigious
projects across the World.
At college you will be learning skills to give you the appropriate knowledge to carry out tasks such as Basic Working Procedures and Techniques, Welding, Tooling, Methodology and more…
This position will be best suited to applicants with good practical skills and an interest in engineering-based projects.
TRAINING TO BE PROVIDED:
This programme will include:
– Engineering Basic Skills training – Day Release at local college
– NVQ Level 3 in Engineering- Day release at local college
– A Technical Certificate (possible HND or equivalent)
– In house training in line with your requirements.
ONCE TRAINED YOU WILL BE ABLE TO
– Interpret component drawings supplied as hard copy or computer-generated images.
– Use optimum process and correct tools for each stage of manufacture.
– Produce components in line with customer requirements.
– Checking the component dimensions using a range of measuring equipment to include digital micrometres, height gauges, Vernier’s, and in-process gauging.
– Conduct basic routine machine maintenance checks.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED: A minimum of 3 GCSEs at Grade 4/C or above, to include Maths, English, and Science or Product Design.
HOURS OF WORK:
7AM – 4PM Monday to Thursday (30 minutes lunch break)
7AM – 1PM Friday (no lunch break)
= 40 hours per week
FUTURE PROSPECTS:
There is potential for the right candidates to move into a Management or a Technical Role, fully supported by a Continuous Professional Development programme within Abacus.
The candidate will be expected to sit an aptitude test prior to the interview process.
