Situated in Croydon, Royal Russell School provides an exciting range of opportunities for its pupils ranging from 3 to 18 years of age.

Boasting a number of football pitches, hockey pitch, all weather games areas for netball and tennis and indoor facilities, sport is clearly an integral part of school life at Royal Russell.

The school were looking for a lighting solution to replace their current metal halide system. Ease of maintenance was a key factor. In addition, the new system had to offer a significant improvement in energy savings compared to their existing lighting solution.

The new lighting system at Royal Russell School provides high performance LED lighting with the added benefits that come with the AAA-LUX WS-Series floodlights. With instant start-up and dimming, the system can be controlled to only provide light where and when it is required. Lighting levels can be lowered when appropriate to provide further energy savings. Whilst achieving the desired lighting specification, payback will be made within a few years.

Abacus HL250 base-hinged masts can be quickly and safely lowered to ground level using a counterbalance device. By doing so, luminaire maintenance and cleaning can be carried out in total safety. In addition, by removing the need for a skylift to access the luminaires, the possibility of damage to the pitches is totally eliminated.
