The Challenge
The club already had an existing floodlighting system in place. However they were after an LED alternative to ensure operational and maintenance costs were kept to a minimum, and reducing environmental impact.
The Solution
In a bid to elevate performance and reduce operational costs, Abacus Lighting implemented our state-of-the-art Challenger 1 LED floodlights at Ben Rhydding Hockey Club. The installation resulted in a remarkable enhancement of the club’s lighting conditions, achieving an average illuminance of 500 lux with a uniformity of 0.7, perfectly aligning with England Hockey Specification standards.
The new installation has significantly enhanced visibility and player experience on the field. Moreover, the integration of a wireless control system empowered the club with remote management capabilities, enabling seamless off-site control via mobile or laptop. This sophisticated feature allows for a customisable 7-day programming schedule, ensuring optimal lighting conditions during training sessions and matches.
